Not a bad start to the season at all! Another brilliant performance today from our Dawley Wanderers U12 Girls, taking all 3 points with a top-class team effort.
The girls were in control for the majority of the game. Defensively solid once again, setting the perfect foundation for us to push forward. We created heaps of brilliant chances with some lovely pass-throughs and clever runs into space, heading into the break 2-0 up at halftime.
Ercall pushed hard to reopen the game early in the second half and pulled one back to make it 2-1, but our girls didn't flinch. We responded like champions, edging ahead again with two brilliant transitions to seal a well-deserved victory.
Doing that against a team like Ercall, who are defensively sound and will prove tough for many teams this season, is no easy task—huge credit to the girls! 👏💪

This week our Under 10s were away against Sparta Yellow, and as always, it was a close and competitive game from start to finish.
The boys created the greater number of chances and worked hard to create opportunities, but on the day it was the defences that came out on top. Both teams defended really well and made it a tough game for the attackers.
A big well done to all the boys for their effort, determination and teamwork! 👏💪

Despite missing a few key players the Dawley Wanderers U12 Girls returned to victory in style this weekend with a fantastic 5-2 win against Shropshire Lions! 🥳🙌
From back to front, the team delivered a solid performance in what was a really physical battle at times, with Shropshire Lions putting up a strong fight with plenty of energy. The defensive line was rock-solid, shutting down their build-up play, while our midfield made brilliant passes and controlled the tempo of the game throughout. That strong foundation allowed the squad to play some gorgeous, defense-splitting passes to secure the goals.
A phenomenal team effort overall!
